LUNA SEA recently held two shows at the famed Tokyo Dome in Japan. On Saturday, February 22, the concert showcased a dual performance with LUNA SEA’s longtime musical partner GLAY. This was the first time the two artists had played together on stage in over 25 years. Both bands performed different setlists, including fan favorites such as “STORM”, “IN SILENCE”, and “I for You” from LUNA SEA and “Kuchibiru”, “Pure Soul”, and “HOWEVER” from GLAY.
The encore included a special combined performance from both artists, mixing musicians and songs from each band. LUNA SEA’s popular song “TRUE BLOOD” featured TERU from GLAY on vocals and “BELOVED” by GLAY was sung by LUNA SEA’s vocalist RYUICHI. The encore’s finale was “WISH” by LUNA SEA and the members of both bands performed the song together.
LUNA SEA’s vocalist RYUICHI finished off the phenomenal evening by commenting “A lot of things have happened for both of us since that time when so many bands were created, but I’m thankful we can stand on stage together at Tokyo Dome again. GLAY and LUNA SEA will continue to lead the scene!”
On Sunday, February 23, LUNA SEA had their grand finale to their 35th anniversary tour titled “ERA TO ERA”. This was the band’s first time in 15 years to perform solo at the Tokyo Dome. The concert was a memorable night for fans and, as the evening finished, a long awaited announcement was made to the audience. The third edition of LUNATIC FEST. will be held on November 8 and 9 of 2025. LUNATIC FEST. was last held back in 2018, so the 2025 event has been highly anticipated.
