Reita of the GazettE passes away suddenly at 42

With great sadness, it was announced on April 15 that Reita, the bassist of the GazettE, has suddenly passed away. No official cause of death has currently been disclosed.

Reita was only 42 years old. He spent over half of his life playing guitar for the GazettE. Band members and fans have been left shocked and deeply saddened by the sudden loss of the talented musician.

the GazettE is one of Japan’s most popular visual rock bands. Formed in 2002, the GazettE have released dozens of singles and several albums, many of them reaching the top of the Oricon Charts, and have toured internationally three times. They have sold out venues such as the famed Tokyo Dome and Nippon Budukon.

Reita was particularly well known for his unique look and influence on the visual kei scene.

A small private service will be held for family. An official statement to the fans is posted on the GazettE’s website in both Japanese and English.
