The first key visual and promotional video for the new Ghost in the Shell anime THE GHOST IN THE SHELL has been released, previewing scenes from the upcoming series. Based on the manga by Masamune Shirow, the upcoming series will air every Tuesday at 11:00 p.m. starting in July in the nationwide Kansai TV–Fuji TV programming block “Ka-Anival!!”.
The first promotional video is reveals new footage of protagonist Motoko Kusanagi and the members of Public Security Section 9. The first key visual, illustrated by series character designer and chief animation director Shuhei Handa, pays homage to Kusanagi’s original appearance in Shirow’s manga. The drawing is currently on display at the Ghost in the Shell Exhibition at TOKYO NODE GALLERY in Tokyo.
THE GHOST IN THE SHELL 2026 series will be directed by MOKOCHAN, with a script by EnJoe Toh.
