J-Pop duo FEMM (Far East Mention Mannequin) has made waves with a rapid-fire succession of music video releases this year, including the viral hit “Fxxk Boyz Get Money”. Their surprising new ballad strips it down, with RiRi and LuLa revealing a more natural look and vulnerability with “Unbreakable”.
FEMM debuted in early 2014 with the single “Astroboy” featuring choreography by Hidali (World Order), and have collaborated with Brian Lee (Lady Gaga, Iconapop), Jorge Mhondera (Pharrell, Missy Elliot) and other global producers.
According the FEMM’s managers, RiRa and LuLa were “secretly brought to the surface from their head office, located in Tokyo Bay, to observe human society to stand up for, and protect oppressed and abandoned mannequins…They realized they could communicate easily with the whole world through pop music. Is it possible for mannequins’ songs to change the world? Even we cannot predict the future, but we believe in their potential.”
