
Shioli Kutsuna has been cast in the upcoming Netflix live action Gundam film. According to Deadline, the actress will join Sydney Sweeney, Noah Centineo, and Michael Mando when filming begins in Australia next month.
Kutsuna’s career has been marked by several hit series and film in Japan, including roles in the Detective Conan specials, I’m Mita, Your Housekeeper, and the adaptation of the rock music manga Beck. She won the Kinema Junpo Award for Best New Actress for her performance in My Back Pages and the Japan Academy Film Prize for Newcomer of the Year in the Japanese adaptation of Unforgiven (starring Ken Watanabe). American audiences have been introduced to her work through performances in the Apple TV+ series Invasion, the video game Death Stranding 2, and her role as Yukio in Deadpool 2 and Deadpool & Wolverine (2024).
