Fans dedicated enough to brave the crowded Austin streets of SXSW 2019 can sample a wide variety of indie Japanese artists performing at the annual music festival March 13-17.
Rock, hip-hop, punk, a Japanese Led Zeppelin tribute, and the return of out-of-this-world girls rock band eX-GIRL are just the beginning of the one of SXSW’s most eclectic collections of Japanese music acts, led by fresh-from-Coachella Otoboke Beaver and rising star metal band ASTERISM.
Fans of the Japan Nite tour will have to get to Austin to see this lineup, since SXSW is this year’s only stop for the legendary event. Chai and ASTERISM will launch independent tours of the U.S. following the festival.
