Japanese pop singer/songwriter Kenshi Yonezu followed up his August 7 Fortnite event with the announcement of a collaboration with UNIQLO stores in the U.S. and Canada, dropping an exclusive line of graphic tees on the brand’s UT line.
The promotion campaign also includes a massive takeover of the store’s NYC flagship store on 5th Avenue.
Yonezu’s appearance on Fortnite’s “Party Royale” Main Stage brought players a selection of music videos from the performer’s newly-released STRAY SHEEP album. Yonezu performed entirely in Japanese behind his custom sheep helmet, with a brief English-subtitled MC near the end of the 22-minute set.
STRAY SHEEP contains 15 tracks, including his collaboration with Yojiro Noda (RADWIMPS) on “Kanden”, the theme song of the TBS drama MIU404, and a cover of Saki Masuda’s “Machigai Sagashi”. The limited edition Blu-ray edition includes the 2019 live concert “Sekitsui ga Opal ni naru koro” recorded at Makuhari Messe.
