Netflix has announced it will add 40 new anime titles to its catalog this year. Citing the remarkable statistic that half of the streamer’s 222 million subscribers watch anime on its service, Netflix is looking to capitalize on the steady growth of what was once considered a niche market.

Fans can look forward to more seasons of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure STONE OCEAN, along with animated films Bubble (from Tetsuro Araki) and Drifting Home (Studio Colorido).

Netflix’s first original anime production was Blame!, released in 2017.
