HYDE’s new digital single “DEFEAT”, released on Christmas Day, is a collaboration with Devil May Cry 5 Special Edition. The lyric video is now available on HYDE’s YouTube channel, showcasing the video game’s intense visuals and beautiful CG animation.
“DEFEAT” was released one month after his November single “LET IT OUT” to launch HYDE’s acoustic live tour HYDE LIVE 2020-2021 ANTI WIRE, which began in Kanagawa on December 26.
HYDE designed the cover image to have a double-meaning, displaying the sign of the “Devil” horns with two hands with the title tattooed on the fingers, but splitting “DEFEAT” into “DEF” (definitely) and “EAT” (eat) to indicate the savage emotional hunger behind the song.
HYDE enters his 20th anniversary year in 2021.
