Japanese comic artist Peach Momoko will release a series of kimono variant covers for Marvel Comics in March 2025, featuring 19 illustrations that depict major Marvel heroes in traditional Japanese attire reimagined with contemporary style. The covers will appear across a range of titles including Avengers, Uncanny X-Men, Amazing Spider-Man, All-New Venom, Storm, Scarlet Witch, Phoenix, Magik, Ms. Marvel, Black Cat, Invisible Woman, Rogue, She-Hulk, Psylocke, Tigra, Captain Marvel, Daredevil, and Moon Knight: Fist of Khonshu.

Momoko, known for her acclaimed work on Demon Days and Ultimate X-Men, said she aimed to combine kimono fashion with each character’s distinct personality.

“When I drew the Marvel heroes wearing kimono, I wanted people to simply enjoy seeing the heroes wearing kimono as a fashion item,” Momoko explained. “I didn’t want to stick to just a traditional formal image, so I tried to bring out the individuality of a super hero wearing the kimono as a very casual look. The overall design is simple, but I hope you could feel the wabi-sabi in each cover.”

The first set of kimono variant covers goes on sale March 5, 2025, followed by additional releases on March 12, March 19, and March 26, 2025, giving fans a spread of collector covers throughout the month.
