JFF Film Festival February 2026

Starting February 3, Japan Foundation will offer five new film selections available to stream on JFF Theater.
The mix of Japanese comedies and dramas include stories where time — such as time loops or time travel — plays a key role, as well as films that showcase the richness of Japanese culture.

Nobunaga Concerto (2016)
Director: Hiroaki Matsuyama / Cast: Shun Oguri, Kou Shibasaki, Osamu Mukai, Takayuki Yamada
A modern high school student is suddenly thrust into Japan’s Sengoku era, where he must impersonate the legendary warlord Oda Nobunaga despite knowing little about history. Blending time travel, action, and drama, the film explores fate, identity, and the weight of leadership in turbulent times.

Time Traveller: The Girl Who Leapt Through Time (2010)
Director: Masaaki Taniguchi / Cast: Riisa Naka, Akiyoshi Nakao, Narumi Yasuda
A young woman discovers she can leap across time, using her power to revisit moments tied to love, regret, and loss. As her jumps multiply, the film quietly examines how even small changes can reshape destiny.

Mondays: See You “This” Week! (2022)
Director: Ryo Takebayashi / Cast: Wan Marui, Sports Makita, Koki Osamura, Yugo Mikawa, Haruki Takano
Office workers find themselves trapped in an endlessly repeating Monday, forced to relive the same workweek over and over. With sharp humor and mounting urgency, the film turns a corporate routine into a clever meditation on teamwork, burnout, and breaking free from inertia.

The Lines that Define Me (2022)
Director: Nori Koizumi / Cast: Ryusei Yokohama, Kaya Kiyohara, Kanata Hosoda, Yuumi Kawai
After a personal setback, a young man enters the demanding world of traditional Japanese ink art, where discipline and self-expression collide. His journey toward mastery becomes a search for identity, purpose, and emotional healing.

Every Day a Good Day (2018)
Director: Tatsushi Omori / Cast: Haru Kuroki, Kilin Kiki, Mikako Tabe
A university student begins studying the tea ceremony, gradually learning to appreciate silence, repetition, and the passage of seasons. The film gently reveals how mindfulness and tradition can transform everyday life into something quietly profound.

Films will be available to stream from February 3 – May 7, 2026.
