In a new YouTube series sponsored by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO), author and Netflix star Marie Kondo guides viewers to quiet corners of Japan that aren’t normally spotlighted as tourist destinations.

The series encourages visitors to “escape the daily grind and experience the tranquility, history, and natural wonders Japan offers off the beaten track. From serene sacred sites and unspoiled nature to centuries-old traditions, encounter new ways to find your inner balance in a revitalizing journey of discovery.”

So far, Kondo’s videos have featured the coastal beauty of Mie Prefecture and the rich cultural history of Izumo, Shimane.
